Having had a break for a few days I have been back at it this week. The Decadettes have been busy singing forties music with a themed 1940s party on Friday where the lovely people at Acorns sang along and remembered more words than we did! We then got the audience in the mood prior to curtain up for Weymouth Drama Club’s run of Dad’s Army at the pavilion. The cast were brilliant and put on a fab show that was hard to distinguish from the old TV comedy. Finally today was a wedding fair at the beautiful Abbotsbury Tropical gardens with me performing both as Alex Best and as a Decadette. It was great to meet lots of brides to be and see the lucky couple who won the wedding competition – I’m not sure she could quite believe that she had won. Many congratulations!
And here a few pics of the last few events.
I’ve not had a minute to update anything on here for a while as I have been out and about. Last week I was down in Exeter at the Rougement Hotel meeting brides-to-be and performing at their wedding fair. I met some great people and am looking forward to making their days just that little bit more special soon. Last night I was singing with The Decadettes in Bryantspuddle for a “Decades Night”. We sang music from the forties, fifties and sixties and were totally blown away by some of the dancing – those guys can really jive! Just a few hours sleep and on the road again this morning heading to Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club for their wedding fair where I again made lots of new friends and had a lovely day singing, meeting and greeting!
Please have a look at my media page as the editing is complete and I have just uploaded two brand new tracks. I hope you like them!
This is turning out to be a hectic week. Another fun evening recording last night but this time for a new project that I have been working on. It promises to be very exciting so watch this space for updates as I am not allowed to say anything else yet, it is so hard to keep quiet! The Decadettes are rehearsing for a booking Saturday night at Weymouth Pavilion in Julie Storey’s “Let’s Dance Show” and Weymouth Operatic have also started rehearsals for their upcoming show Evita…not an evening to spare!
